A researcher position at Microsoft Research India offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of computer science research and technology development, and work with world class research colleagues on meaningful research problems. Researchers have a unique opportunity to collaborate with Microsoft’s product groups and influence products used by billions of users and catalyze the design of new products.
The current areas of work range over Algorithms, Machine Learning, Systems (distributed systems, networking, programming languages, security and privacy, cryptography), Human Computer Interaction, and applications of technology to solve societal problems (such as education, health, affordable access to technology). Projects in the lab are inter-disciplinary and span across these research areas.
Responsibilities
- Identifying and framing research problems, studying users and communities to identify pain-points and needs, coming up with innovative solutions.
- Collaborating with Microsoft product groups and other external partners to deploy
- Scale research protypes and artefacts in real-word contexts
- Evaluating the efficiency of the ideas, engaging with the academic community
- Publishing research ideas in leading peer-reviewed conferences and journals, mentoring young students and training them for research careers.
Qualifications
- Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in computer science or related disciplines, and a well-established research track record.
- Applicants should demonstrate leadership in their field as evidenced by high quality publications, and a track record for innovations that are commensurate with their experience and seniority.
- Candidates must also be able to collaborate effectively with other researchers and product development teams.
